Founder and Managing Director Travis Lindemoen launched nexus IT group in March 2010 with no funding or clients. He has since grown the Kansas City-based IT staffing provider to about $3 million in annual revenue and an internal staff of about 15 people. Lindemoen graduated from the University of Kansas in 2005 with a degree in economics and finance. He then joined Allegis Group, holding several roles over a five-year period. “I just thought there was a better way in our industry and ran with that vision,” he says.
Lindemoen recognizes millennials are often tagged as “lazy” or carried by “helicopter parents,” but finds that when provided with a flexible and fun place to work, they can be very hard-working, motivated individuals. Embracing a Silicon Valley work-life style, the nexus office features daily foosball games, a putting green, gym membership reimbursement, beer pong and a basketball hoop. In his off hours, Lindemoen spends time with his family — which includes two young sons — and plays golf and soccer.
